The Pioneer RB-DMX1 interface is Pioneer DJ’s proposal for synchronizing music and lighting via Lightining mode in Rekordbox DJ. In this review we analyze the device a little better and in future tutorials we will explain how it works together with Rekordbox DJ. When connected to a PC/Mac using a USB cable, the RB-DMX1 can control a set of DMX512-supported lighting fixture by converting information set in Lighting mode to DMX512 protocol.

Macro Editor feature for intuitively editing lighting sequences

Fixture Library for flexible lighting fixture configuration

Using the lighting fixture library from AtlaBase Ltd, Lighting mode supports DMX fixture from a wide variety of manufacturers. Create and save multiple lighting fixture configurations using fixture you've assigned in the rekordbox Fixture Library. Lighting patterns are automatically recreated for each fixture configuration, so you can easily change the configuration you want to use according to the size and purpose of the event and venue. The AtlaBase fixture library comprises more than 13000 unique fixture.   Connect the DJ equipment and PC/Mac with a USB cable, and check [Preferences] > [Audio] > [Mixer Mode] (in PERFORMANCE mode).

  • If your DJ equipment supports internal mixer mode, automatic deck selection is available when [Internal] is selected.
  • If your DJ equipment supports external mixer mode, automatic deck selection is available only on the following models when [External] is selected.
